Lou-Lou Brimmed Hat

MATERIALS:

6MM crochet hook

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Worsted weight yarn, I used “I LOVE THIS YARN”

ROW1:SC in back loops only starting with 2nd CH from hook [5SC]

ROW2 ON: CH 1 SC in back loops across  (continue this pattern until circumference of head it met, remembering that it will stretch over time) Mine ended up being 60 rows, for an adult female. [5SC]

Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing

Sew the short ends together

BODY OF HAT:

Attach yarn, to any location on the brim and CH2 (I attached right at the sew)

RND1: DC around, (as close together as you can, ending with an odd number) join with a SL

RND2: CH1 SC in same ST as join and each ST around, join with a SL

Rnd3: CH1 skip first ST, HDC in next ST, now HDC in Skipped ST ; skip ST after first HDC, and HDC in next ST, HDC in skipped ST repeat around ending with a single HDC in last ST join with a SL

RND4: CH1 SC in backloop of ST as join, SC in backloops only around, join with a SL

Repeat rounds 3-4 until desired length keeping in mind there are a few rows of SC to follow

Mine was 20 rows long

RND21-22: CH1 SC in same ST as join and  in each ST around join with a SL

RND23: CH1 SC in same ST as Join: SC in 4 ST, SC2TO, repeat around join with a SL (it’s okay if it doesn’t even out just finish out row with SC)

RND25: CH1 SC in same ST as join: SC in 2 ST, SC2TO, repeat around join with a SL

RND26: CH1 SC in same ST as join: SC IN 1 ST, SC2TO, repeat around join with a SL

RND27: CH1 SC in same ST as join: SC2TO repeat around, fasten off leaving  a long tail for sewing! (I left about 18 inches!

Weave tail in and out of every ST until closed, FASTEN OFF!

POM:

I don’t have a POM-POM maker as my hands work just as well!

I wrapped around 3 fingers, until it was to my liking about 65 times.

Pull it off your fingers and tie it in the middle

Cut the loops and there is your POOF!

Attach to the top of the hat!

Finished! I hope you enjoy your beautiful new hat!
